Evaluation of exposure risk for healthcare personnel performing the open technique HIPEC procedure using cisplatin

Objective: To perform an evaluation of the risk to healthcare personnel exposure cisplatin during a Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) procedure in operating room environment.Methods: Breathing zone air samples were taken from (OR) before, and after HIPEC filter membrane adsorption liquid impact method was applied collect samples. The surface wipe floor OR procedure. Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ICP-MS) used detect content all samples.Results: Thirty-six three wipes collected different locations breathing zones. All negative for cisplatin; however, contamination detected on floor, but lowconcentration(? 2.25 ng).Conclusion: results suggest that inhalation extremely low HIPEC, should be into consideration.
